Child health remains a critical issue in developing member economies as it impacts future generations. Child health issues significantly affect the economic landscape of APEC economies. Ensuring good child health can reduce the costs associated with expensive medical care and contribute to a productive future workforce. Member economies display varying levels of development and health status quality, including child health. This disparity is evident in key child health indicators such as the infant mortality rate (IMR). For example, economies like Singapore; Hong Kong, China; and China report an IMR of approximately 1,5 – 6,2 per 1,000 live births, whereas other economies, such as Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, report rates of around 18,9 and 32 per 1,000 live births, respectively. This gap between member economies presents a significant opportunity for mutual assistance in advancing child health. This attractive and valuable workshop provide opportunities for sharing best practices among healthcare workforce to help bridge these disparities and improve child health outcomes across the region.
